Court of Appeals
In Ohio, there are twelve districts of the Appellate Court, and each district has jurisdiction over one or more counties. Medina County is located in the Ninth District of the Court of Appeals. Therefore, the Appellate Division in Medina County receives and maintains records relating to cases which have been appealed to the Ninth District Court of Appeals.
An appeal is typically brought by a petitioner before the Appellate Court to review a final appealable order rendered by a trial court, such as the Medina County Court of Common Pleas, the Medina Municipal Court, Medina Probate and Juvenile Court, etc. There are also some actions which the Ninth District Court of Appeals has original jurisdiction over which can be filed in the Ninth District Court of Appeals Division of the Medina County Court.
